What deodorant tubes are used for

A deodorant tube holds a solid stick that the customer twists up from the base and swipes on. Deodorant tubes are used for stick deodorant, deodorant balm, solid lotion bars, sunscreen sticks, balm sticks, and other solid body products. Small beauty brands, makers, and private label sellers buy empty deodorant tubes to fill at their own site. A tube is clean to use, keeps hands off the product, and works for retail, travel, gym bags, and gift sets. The cap covers the stick, and a good fit between the cap and the body helps keep the product clean.

Sizes and how to measure

Deodorant tubes are sold by the weight they hold. Common sizes are 0.5 oz (15 g) for travel, 1 oz (30 g), 2.5 oz (75 g), and 3 oz (85 g) for a full size stick. The 2.5 oz and 3 oz sizes are the most common retail sizes. Check the total height with the cap on, because that sets the size of your box. Measure the width of the tube and the flat side for a label. The cap, body, base, and cup are a matched set, so send us the size you want and we confirm the match.

Shapes, materials, and parts

Round tubes are the classic shape, and oval and flat oval tubes have a wide side that is easy to print. Tubes are made of PP plastic and come in white, black, clear, frosted, and colored plastic. If you prefer a paper look, ask us during the free consultation whether a paperboard push up tube suits your product. A tube has four parts: a cap, an outer body, a twist base, and an inner cup where the stick sets. Caps and bases can match the body or be a contrast color. Printing, coating, and finishes

Custom deodorant tubes can carry a logo in several ways. Screen printing puts one or two colors straight on the tube and lasts well, and white or black ink stands out on a colored tube. Hot stamp foil in gold or silver gives a sharp metallic mark. A pressure sensitive label gives full color and room for the scent name and the directions. Labeling notes
