What earring cards are used for

An earring card is the small display that holds a pair of earrings and shows the brand. It keeps the two earrings together, stops them from tangling, and gives the buyer a place to read your name, your story, and your care tips. Earring display cards are used for retail pegs, market stalls, boutique counters, online orders, subscription boxes, and gift sets. Jewelry makers, small brands, and shops use them for card earrings of every kind, such as studs, hoops, huggies, drops, and dangles. A card can sit inside a poly bag, a small box, or a mailer, so one design works for display and for shipping.

Sizes and how to measure

Measure the earring, not just the post. Take the height and width of the earring and the length of the post or the hook. Decide how the pair will sit, side by side or one above the other. The card must be large enough to hold the pair with space around each earring, and tall enough for the hang hole and the logo. Allow at least 1/4 inch of space around each earring. Send us the numbers and we build the dieline around them.

Card styles and shapes

A flat single card is the simplest style and holds a pair on the front. A folded card opens like a greeting card, with the earrings on one side and your story or a care message on the other. A card with a hang tab or a hole hangs on a retail peg. A die-cut card can be rounded, arched, scalloped, or cut to any shape that suits your brand, such as an arch or a leaf. A card with a window shows a pattern or a color behind the earrings. A card can also be made as a tall display card with a header for a name. Custom earring cards can be sold alone or paired with a box or a mailer.

Materials and thickness

Earring posts and hooks need a stiff card, so we use thick paperboard of about 350 to 450 GSM, or a double layer for heavier earrings. White board gives bright print, and kraft board gives a natural look. A smooth uncoated board suits a handmade style, and a coated board suits a sharp, glossy look. Exact thickness is confirmed for each order. Every card uses eco-friendly materials sourced from certified suppliers, and recycled paperboard and kraft board are available.

Printing, coatings, and finishes

Print full color CMYK or match your brand with Pantone spot colors, on the front only or the front and back. Print a logo, a pattern, a short message, a care note, or a social handle. Personalized earring cards can carry your brand name, a different design for each collection, or a message for a gift. A matte coating looks calm, gloss adds shine, and soft-touch adds a velvety feel. Spot UV can pick out the logo, foil in gold, silver, or rose gold adds an accent, and embossing and debossing add texture. A custom earring card with a foil logo and a plain color background is a common choice.

Holes, slits, and hang options

Each card is cut to hold the earring you sell. Small holes hold stud posts and hoop wires, and slits hold hooks and the flat back of a stud. A pair of holes sits at the right distance so the earrings hang straight. A stud card can use two holes with a backing for the earring back. A hoop card can use a slit that the hoop passes through. A hang hole or a hang tab lets the card hang on a peg, and a round or euro hole suits a hook rack. We set the size and position of every hole on the dieline, so you can test fit with the sample kit before a full run.

Artwork and dieline

We send a free dieline with the card shape, the holes, the slits, and the fold lines marked. Supply artwork as a vector AI or PDF file with fonts outlined and images at 300 DPI in CMYK. If you have no artwork yet, free design support and a free consultation are included, and our team can help lay out the front, the back, and the logo area from your brand colors. You review and approve the artwork before production starts.

The final price depends on dimensions, material, printing, finishing, holes and cuts, and quantity. The 50 unit minimum suits a first launch and a wholesale order alike, and one dieline can be shared across several earring styles.
