Custom Brown Kraft Tags and Kraft Paper Tags with String for Eco Friendly Brands

What kraft tags are used for

Kraft paper tags are made from brown kraft stock, a paper with a natural, fibrous look. The brown color makes a product look handmade, earthy, and simple. Brown kraft tags are popular on candles, soap, jars, tea, bath products, and gift bags. Kraft hang tags and kraft gift tags follow the same style, and they match brown paper packaging well. Recycled paper tags and eco friendly tags suit brands that want a natural look. Kraft tags with string, such as jute or cotton, make the look complete.

Sizes and how to measure

Tag size is written as width x height. A common kraft tag is about 2 in x 3.5 in. A small tag is about 1.5 in x 2.5 in, and a large tag is about 3 in x 4.5 in. To choose a size, look at the product and the space where the tag will hang. Tell us your product, and we suggest a size.

Example sizes (approximate and for reference only; we confirm the exact size before you order):

• Small kraft tag: about 1.5 in x 2.5 in
• Standard kraft tag: about 2 in x 3.5 in
• Square kraft tag: about 2.5 in x 2.5 in
• Large kraft tag: about 3 in x 4.5 in

Kraft stock, ink, hole, and string

Kraft tags are printed on thick brown kraft card stock. Recycled content is one option on kraft stock, and we use eco-friendly materials sourced from certified suppliers. Ask which kraft stocks are available for your order, and a sample kit lets you see the color and the thickness. A hole is punched at the top, and the string can be jute, cotton, or ribbon. Finishes include matte and foil. Kraft is not waterproof, so keep tags away from water.

Printing and finishing

Printed kraft tags look different from tags on white paper, because the brown stock shows through the ink. Dark ink such as black or brown looks sharp and natural. White ink stands out well and gives a bold, modern look. Bright colors look softer on kraft. Foil in gold or silver gives a bright contrast on brown. Keep the design simple, with a bold logo and a small number of colors. Photos and fine gradients lose detail on kraft.

Eco friendly tags and recycled paper tags

Many brands choose kraft because it suits a natural, low waste style. We use eco-friendly materials sourced from certified suppliers. Tell us if you need a recycled paper tag, and we confirm the stock options. We do not make claims about a stock beyond what the supplier documents for it, and you should check any green claim you print on your own tags.

Kraft gift tags and kraft hang tags

Kraft gift tags are a natural choice for holiday gifts, favors, and handmade items. Kraft hang tags suit candles, soap, and jars. Jute string completes the rustic look. Pair kraft tags with kraft labels and a brown mailer for a matching set.

Text and content notes

If the tag carries product details such as price, size, materials, or care text, products have their own labeling rules, and what is required depends on your product and your market. You supply all text and the layout, and we print what you send. We do not write or check text or claims, and you are responsible for the content on your tags.

Orders from 50 units

Orders start at 50 units, which suits a new brand, a test batch, or a small giveaway. Larger orders cost less per tag, and they can be planned in several sizes and designs. Share your expected yearly volume during the free consultation and we plan around it.

Artwork and dieline

We send a free dieline that shows the tag size, the shape, the cut line, and the safe area, so you can see where your artwork goes and where text should stay clear. Supply artwork as a vector AI or PDF file with fonts outlined and images at 300 DPI in CMYK. If you have no artwork yet, free design support and a free consultation are included, and our team can help lay out the logo and the text from your brand colors. You review and approve the artwork before production starts.
