What necklace cards are used for

A necklace card holds a chain and a pendant flat, so the necklace stays tangle free and the brand stays in view. It gives the buyer a place to read your name, your story, and your care tips. Necklace display cards are used for retail pegs, market stalls, boutique counters, online orders, subscription boxes, and gift sets. Jewelry makers, small brands, and shops use necklace cards for pendant necklaces, chokers, layered chains, charm necklaces, and lockets. A card can sit inside a poly bag, a small box, or a mailer, so one design works for display and for shipping.

Sizes and how to measure

Measure the necklace, not just the pendant. Take the chain length, the pendant height and width, and the clasp. Decide how the chain will sit: stretched across the card, looped in a curve, or wrapped around notches. The card must be large enough to hold the chain without strain, and tall enough for the pendant, the hang hole, and the logo. Allow at least 1/4 inch of space around the pendant. Send us the numbers and we build the dieline around them.

Card styles and shapes

A flat single card is the simplest style and holds one necklace on the front. A folded card opens like a greeting card, with the necklace on one side and your story or a care message on the other. A card with a hang tab or a hole hangs on a retail peg. A die-cut card can be rounded, arched, scalloped, or cut to any shape that suits your brand, and a tall card can have a header for a name. A card with a window shows a pattern or a color behind the pendant. Custom necklace display cards can be sold alone or paired with a box, a pouch, or a mailer.

Materials and thickness

A necklace card needs a firm board so the chain does not bend it, so we use thick paperboard of about 350 to 450 GSM, or a double layer for heavier pieces. White board gives bright print, and kraft board gives a natural look. A smooth uncoated board suits a handmade style, and a coated board suits a sharp, glossy look. Exact thickness is confirmed for each order. Every card uses eco-friendly materials sourced from certified suppliers, and recycled paperboard and kraft board are available.

Printing, coatings, and finishes

Print full color CMYK or match your brand with Pantone spot colors, on the front only or the front and back. Print a logo, a pattern, a short message, a care note, or a social handle. A matte coating looks calm, gloss adds shine, and soft-touch adds a velvety feel. Foil printed necklace display cards use foil in gold, silver, or rose gold to pick out a logo or a border, and they look sharp on a dark card. Embossed necklace display cards raise the logo or a pattern out of the board, and debossing presses it in. Foil and embossing can be combined on one logo. Spot UV can add a gloss accent to a matte card.

Slits, holes, and hang options

Each card is cut to hold the necklace you sell. A slit holds the pendant bail or the clasp, and a pair of notches at the edge holds the chain in a curve. A small hole near the top can hold a loop of chain. A slit across the card can hold a flat pendant, and a row of slits can hold a layered set, with one slit for each chain. A hang hole or a hang tab lets the card hang on a peg, and a round or euro hole suits a hook rack. We set the size and position of every cut on the dieline, so you can test fit with the sample kit before a full run.

Artwork and dieline

We send a free dieline with the card shape, the slits, the notches, and the fold lines marked. Supply artwork as a vector AI or PDF file with fonts outlined and images at 300 DPI in CMYK. Mark the foil and embossed areas on a separate layer. If you have no artwork yet, free design support and a free consultation are included, and our team can help lay out the front, the back, and the logo area from your brand colors. You review and approve the artwork before production starts.

The final price depends on dimensions, material, printing, finishing, holes and cuts, and quantity. The 50 unit minimum suits a first launch and a wholesale order alike, and one dieline can be shared across several necklace styles.
