What custom setting spray boxes are used for

A setting spray is a tall, slim bottle with a fine mist sprayer, and it often travels in a makeup bag. The box has to protect a pump that can crack, stand out on a shelf full of similar bottles, and carry the directions and ingredient list that a narrow bottle has little room for. Custom setting spray boxes hold glass and plastic mist bottles in travel, standard, and full sizes. They are used for single bottles, mini and full size pairs, and sets that add a primer or a makeup sponge. Sizes and how to measure

Measure the bottle, not the label. Take the outer diameter at the widest point and the full height with the sprayer and cap on. Some sprayers are wider than the bottle, so measure the cap too. Allow 1/8 to 1/4 inch per side for clearance. Send us the numbers and we build the dieline around them.

Box styles and closures

A straight tuck end carton is the standard choice for setting spray boxes, because it ships flat and fits a tall bottle snugly. A reverse tuck end keeps the front panel clean. An auto lock bottom carries the weight of a glass bottle without tape. A sleeve box slides over a tray and suits a pair of bottles, and a magnetic closure rigid box suits a gift set. A hang tab version fits a retail peg. These styles can be made as custom setting spray packaging for retail or for mailing.

Materials and thickness

Folding cartons use paperboard of about 300 to 400 GSM, which prints crisp color and holds a tall bottle firmly. Kraft board gives a natural look. Rigid boxes use greyboard of about 1.5 to 2 mm under a printed wrap and suit a pair or a gift set. For mail, E-flute or B-flute corrugated mailers add crush protection, which matters for glass. Exact thickness is confirmed for each order. Every box uses eco-friendly materials sourced from certified suppliers, and recycled paperboard and kraft board are available.

Printing, coatings, and finishes

Print full color CMYK or match your brand with Pantone spot colors, on the outside only or the outside and inside. A tall, narrow front panel suits a vertical logo and a short product name. Many brands print the finish type on a color band, such as matte, dewy, or long wear, so shoppers sort the range at a glance. Matte lamination looks calm, gloss adds shine, and soft-touch adds a velvety feel. Spot UV can pick out the logo, and foil in gold, silver, or rose gold adds an accent. Embossing and debossing add texture to a name. Custom printed setting spray boxes can also carry a barcode, directions, and a short usage note.

Inserts and windows

A paperboard or corrugated insert holds the bottle upright and keeps the sprayer from rubbing the wall. For a pair or a set, the insert has an opening for each item. A die-cut window with clear film shows the bottle and the cap color, which helps in retail. If your bottle is plain, a solid front with a foil logo may look better. A clean white insert makes a clear bottle stand out.
